Hi Everyone!

You are cordially invited to attend the second debate being presented by the CNA-Debating Club.

The topic will be

" Should Arab women have status/rights equal to that of Arab men?"

The debate will take place on Thursday , May 26, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium in College of the North Atlantic - Qatar

I feel sorry for people who will argue that they should not have equal rights. However,
I think it is an important topic especially these days since our Ummah is under continous
attacks by western countries for what is called 'women libration'.

It is imperative to define what rights are we talking about? I think when people talk it now
it seems like men are the enemies of women who are trying hard not to give them their
rights. It might be true that in some societies where some traditions restrict the women
role in society. But Islam established that they have equal rights and obligations which
does not contradict the fact that they are not identical so they have different roles in life.

Anyway, Inshalah this event will be successful. I just had to say something :)
